2022: End of the Year

The Good:

  • Grace and I were able to travel the world together, and with friends. We were really lucky to see as much as we saw this year

  • We ate at Noma! It was everything I dreamed it to be

  • Hello Donuts had its best months ever towards the end of 2022. A strong showing by our great team and a growing neighborhood

  • Many Hats Distribution continued providing a well-needed service to the independent music industry. We hope to pay out over $5,000,000 in royalties in 2023

  • Alternate Side had its best year ever and we were able to bring on a great new manager

  • I received my first platinum plaque, which is a very weird thing to have happen to someone whose favorite band is blink-182

  • Made new pals in Cafuné, who we signed to Elektra Records, and had a bonafide alternative radio hit together

  • Was able to put on the biggest shows of my career with great teammates

The Bad:

  • 50 total flights = too many nights away from home

  • Aspects of physical health worsened over the past year, again, due to travel

  • Juggling the desire for business growth with and against the desire and need to do less, again

2023:

  • Continue to support Grace through her own career success

  • Work on better exercise routines

  • Take another larger scaled vacation/trip from home

  • Continue to refine instead of trying to reinvent

End of the Year:

2022 was far less calm than 2021 and 2020. I am going to do my best to recognize that 2023 will likely follow a similar pattern, but to be able to better handle it.

As always, I’ve published lots of media, data, and other information from my personal life this year, which all can be found below:

  • Activity Log: Ditched the Quarantine Media Diet, but everything else kept humming. 50 flights!

  • The Year in Music: I really liked music in 2022, which was a pleasant surprise.

  • Shows: 69, like the olden days.

  • Works: I co-signed Cafuné to Elektra Records and became a partner in a new restaurant called Pietramala.

  • Enjoy Philadelphia: Updates continue, but are less plentiful due to continued COVID struggles.
